Terms and refunds

Last updated 25 October 2026

The short version

Prices are in Australian dollars and exclude GST unless I say otherwise. I'm registered for GST.

Bigger jobs start with a written quote and a 50% deposit.

Change your mind before I start and you get your deposit back. Once I've started, you pay for the work done.

Nothing here takes away your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Who these terms are with

These terms are between you and me, Michael Dance. I'm a sole trader. ABN 40 524 278 158. Hobart TAS 7005, Australia. Email michael@michaeldance.au.

They cover this website and every service I offer. If we sign a written quote or scope, it sits alongside these terms. If the two disagree, the written quote wins.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

My services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with me, and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

Everything else on this page sits on top of those rights. Nothing here is meant to reduce them.

Prices and payment

The services

Free 10-minute call

No cost and no obligation. It's a quick chat to see if I can help.

AI Time Audit

A 45-minute call, a written report with 5 to 7 tool recommendations, and a 30-minute review call. The price is on the website and in your booking confirmation. Founding offer audits are free in exchange for honest feedback. Giving a testimonial is your choice. If I publish one, I'll say you got the audit free.

Implementation

Scoped in writing from your audit report. A 50% deposit starts the work. The balance is due on handover. If you want to add to the scope, I'll quote the extra in writing first.

Every job includes a recorded training session, written instructions and two weeks of support after handover. If something I built doesn't run as described in your scope, I'll fix it at no extra cost.

Monthly retainer

Billed monthly in advance. Month to month with no lock-in. Cancel any time by email before your next billing date and you won't be charged again.

AI for Your Team (workshop)

A 50% deposit locks in your date. The balance is due on the day of the session.

The 30-day promise: if your team isn't using what we set up at the 30-day check-in, I'll come back and run one follow-up session at no cost. This promise is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Cancellations and refunds

ServiceIf you cancel
AI Time AuditReschedule or cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your first call. After the first call, I'll refund the review call portion only if we haven't held it. No change-of-mind refund once your report is delivered.
ImplementationFull refund of your deposit if you cancel before I start. After I start, I keep the part of the deposit that covers work done, and refund the rest. I'll show you what was done.
Monthly retainerCancel any time before your next billing date. The month you've already paid for runs to the end.
AI for Your TeamFull deposit refund if you cancel 14 or more days before the session. Move your date once for free with 7 or more days' notice. Inside 7 days, the deposit covers the preparation already done.

If I have to cancel or can't deliver, you get a full refund for anything I haven't done. This applies to me getting sick, or anything else on my side.

To ask for a refund, email michael@michaeldance.au. I'll reply within 2 business days and refund within 10 business days of agreeing.

What I need from you

About AI

AI tools can get things wrong. Check anything important an AI tool produces before you rely on it, like a quote, an invoice or advice to a customer. I'll show you how.

The tools I recommend are made by other companies. They can change their features, prices or terms. I'll help you adjust, but I don't control them.

My report gives practical recommendations about tools and processes. It isn't legal, financial or tax advice.

Who owns what

Once you've paid, your report and anything I build for your business is yours to use however you like. I keep ownership of my own templates, methods and general know-how, and can reuse them for other clients. I'll never reuse your business information.

Keeping things confidential

What you tell me about your business stays private. I won't share it, or name you as a client, without your OK. The only exceptions are my service providers listed in the privacy policy, or if the law requires it.

Liability

My services are for businesses. As far as the law allows, if I'm responsible for a problem, my liability is limited to doing the work again or refunding what you paid for it. This doesn't limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law where the law says they can't be limited.

I'm not responsible for losses caused by third-party tools going down or changing, or by decisions you make without checking AI output.

This website

The information on this site is general. It isn't advice for your specific business. The example numbers on the site, like the time-saving maths, are examples only. Your results depend on your business.

Disagreements

If something goes wrong, email me first. Most things can be sorted with a conversation. These terms are governed by the law of Tasmania, Australia.

Changes

I may update these terms. The version that applies is the one on this page on the day you accept your quote or book your service.
